Want Books: Graffiti Moon

Want Books? is a weekly meme hosted here at Chachic’s Book Nook and features released books that you want but you can’t have for some reason. It can be because it’s not available in your country, in your library or you don’t have the money for it right now. Everyone is free to join, just grab the image above. Leave a comment with a link to your post so I can do a roundup with each post.

I’ve mentioned before that there are several Aussie YA books that I’d really like to read but they’re not readily available here. Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley is one of them. Although Nomes of Inkcrush said that this one will be published in the US, I’m just not sure when that’ll happen.

Here’s the summary from Cath Crowley’s website:

Let me make it in time. Let me meet Shadow. The guy who paints in the dark. Paints birds trapped on brick walls and people lost in ghost forests. Paints guys with grass growing from their hearts and girls with buzzing lawn mowers.

It’s the end of Year 12. Lucy’s looking for Shadow, the graffiti artist everyone talks about.

His work is all over the city, but he is nowhere.

Ed, the last guy she wants to see at the moment, says he knows where to find him. He takes Lucy on an all-night search to places where Shadow’s thoughts about heartbreak and escape echo around the city walls.

But the one thing Lucy can’t see is the one thing that’s right before her eyes.

Doesn’t the premise look interesting? What about you, what book is in your wishlist?

    • Brandy, you have some catching up to do when it comes to contemporary YA. 😛 That’s why you have a lot of titles on your radar. Can’t wait to see what you think of the books that you’ll get to read.

  1. I’ve seen the cover around and I adore it! Perfect for a graffiti book. This is the first time I’ve read the premise. It does sound interesting. I’m curious now. Great pick.

    • I think when I first saw this, I wasn’t aware that it was an Aussie book. I hope they announce the US publication date soon so we have an idea of when it’ll become internationally available.

    • Nomes, sounds great! I’m excited to read it because I’ve been hearing good things from Aussie book bloggers. Good thing I have a friend in Australia who’s coming home to the Philippines for Christmas. I asked him to get this and Six Impossible Things for me. 🙂
