In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. This meme is about books that you received or bought during the week.
I got a pretty good haul this week because I was able to grab a copy of one of my most anticipated books in 2010, Pegasus. There was also a Filipino Book Bloggers meet up yesterday and we did the rounds in the bookstores around the area. Here’s the list of what I got:
Pegasus by Robin McKinley from Fully Booked, which I already reviewed here
Undercover Tai Tai by Maya O. Calica from National Bookstore
Philippine Genre Stories Christmas Edition from Kenneth (thank you, Kenneth!)
Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock from Book Sale for P20
The Secret of Platform 13 by Eva Ibbotson from Book Sale for P45
The Spell Book of Listen Taylor by Jaclyn Moriarty from Libreria for P100
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith from Libreria for P75
and the vintage postcards at the bottom are freebies from Triccie, the owner of Libreria. Aren’t they cute? 🙂 Thanks, Triccie! The last four books are used so I got them cheap. Yay for good book finds! What about you, what did you get in your mailbox?
Awesome haul Chachic! I Capture the Castle is on my list of things I need to read! The Philippine Genre Stories sound interesting too. Have you read any of them or is completely new to you?
Hey Carin, I Capture the Castle was likened to The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets which I really enjoyed so I thought I’d give it a try.
This is the first time that I’ll be able to read Philippine Genre Stories and I’m thankful that Kenneth gave me a free copy of the Christmas edition. 🙂
Great haul Chachic. I have my eye on Pegasus and I’ve heard such great thing about Eva Ibbotson and Catherine Gilbert Murdock’s books 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!
Thanks Ladybug! Hope you get to read Pegasus soon. Have you read McKinley’s other books?
I love Eva Ibbotson’s YA historical fiction books but I haven’t tried her work for younger audiences. I’m hoping to change that with The Secret of Platform 13.
Yes, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Dairy Queen so I’m excited to read it. 🙂
These are great finds! I love the vintage postcards.:)
Celina, aren’t they nice? 🙂 Triccie inserts them in the books that she sells.
Dying for a copy of Pegasus…. Going to just have to order my copy TODAY!
That’s how I felt last week when I still didn’t have my copy. Hope you’re able to get yours soon. 🙂
I havent heard of Pegasus? I need to go check it out! great books this week! Here is my IMM: http://nikkibrandyberry.wordpress.com/2010/11/13/in-my-mailbox-kinda-7-2/
I hope you do! I love Robin McKinley’s books. 🙂
Ooo Dairy Queen! I hope you like it.
And I got it for a steal! P20 is less than half a dollar. 🙂 I also have Princess Ben but I still haven’t read it yet.
Lovely pile all of them. Your review of Pegasus has me dying to read that one. And I really think you’ll like DAIRY QUEEN. It’s one of my favs.
Michelle, I hope you get to read Pegasus soon! I’d love to know what you think of it. 🙂 It’s because of you that I was so excited to get, Dairy Queen. I was so glad to get a bargain copy of it. While making my IMM post, I was thinking, “I bet Michelle will be happy to see this!”
