Want Books: StarCrossed

Want Books? is a weekly meme hosted here at Chachic’s Book Nook and features released books that you want but you can’t have for some reason. It can be because it’s not available in your country, in your library or you don’t have the money for it right now. Everyone is free to join, just grab the image above. Leave a comment with a link to your post so I can do a roundup with each post.

While I wasn’t a big fan of Elizabeth C. Bunce’s debut novel, A Curse as Dark as Gold, I’m pretty interested in her next book, StarCrossed. I’ve seen good reviews of it and just look at the premise, the main character THRIVES as a spy and a thief. As I always say here on the blog, I’m a huge fan of thieves because of Eugenides so I feel like this book is calling out to me. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen copies of it around.

Here’s the summary from Elizabeth C. Bunce’s website:

Digger thrives as a spy and sneak-thief among the feuding religious factions of Gerse, dodging the Greenmen who have banned all magic. But when a routine job goes horribly wrong and her partner and lover Tegen is killed, she has to get out of the city, fast, and hides herself in a merry group of nobles to do so. Accepted as a lady’s maid to shy young Merista Nemair, Digger finds new peace and friendship at the Nemair stronghold–as well as plenty of jewels for the taking. But after the devious Lord Daul catches her in the act of thievery, he blackmails her into becoming his personal spy in the castle, and Digger soon realizes that her noble hosts aren’t as apolitical as she thought… that indeed, she may be at the heart of a magical rebellion.

What about you, what book is in your wishlist?

  1. I didn’t know what this was about. Thieves you say? That makes it more appealing. I think I may try her first novel first though. I know Angie was reading this – I wonder what she thought of it.

Comments are like chocolate. :) Maraming salamat / thank you!
