Want Books? is a weekly meme hosted here at Chachic’s Book Nook and features released books that you want but you can’t have for some reason. It can be because it’s not available in your country, in your library or you don’t have the money for it right now. Everyone is free to join, just grab the image above. Leave a comment with a link to your post so I can do a roundup with each post.
My Want Books pick for this week is Pegasus by Robin McKinley. The release date for this book is November 2 so it’s already available in other countries but as usual, we still don’t have it here. I have a reservation in Fully Booked but they haven’t contacted me so the book hasn’t arrived in our shores (and yes, I’ve called and asked them about the book several times in the past few days). I thought about getting a Kindle version but considering how gorgeous the cover is, I want an actual copy. Plus, it would look good beside my other McKinleys. 🙂 I wants it, my precious! Even though I know it has a cliffhanger ending and that Pegasus II isn’t finished.
Here’s the summary from Robin McKinley’s website:
Because of a thousand-year-old alliance between humans and pegasi, Princess Sylviianel is ceremonially bound to Ebon, her own pegasus, on her twelfth birthday. The two species coexist peacefully, despite the language barriers separating them. Humans and pegasi both rely on specially-trained Speaker magicians as the only means of real communication.
But it’s different for Sylvi and Ebon. They can understand each other. They quickly grow close — so close that their bond becomes a threat to the status quo — and possibly to the future safety of their two nations.
What about you, what’s on your wishlist?
