In My Mailbox: September 26

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. This meme is about books that you received or bought during the week.

These are the books that I bought this week:

Kobayashi Maru of Love by Carljoe Javier (from the author)
The Wandering Fire by Guy Gavriel Kay (from Fully Booked)
Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay (from Fully Booked)
Grimspace by Ann Aguirre (from Fully Booked)

I included my shoes in the picture because I think they’re cute. 😛 I got The Wandering Fire because I saw that it was 80% off and I already have a copy of the first book in the Fionavar Tapestry trilogy. Finally got my special order of Tigana after several weeks. I was so excited when I saw that Grimspace was also available because that book is pretty high up my wishlist so I grabbed that one as well. I’m a few chapters in and I like it so far, Sirantha Jax is my kind of protagonist. I got my copy of Kobayashi when Carljoe dropped by the Filipino Book Bloggers’ meet up yesterday and he was kind enough to sign it:

This one isn’t included in the picture above because I didn’t want to put it on the floor:

Paolo brought a couple of Filipino Speculative Fiction books at the meet up yesterday and I borrowed A Time for Dragons. Thanks Pao, I look forward to reading this.

How about you, what are the books that you got this week?

  1. It’s great that you finally got Tigana and how lucky that you got The Wandering Fire for 80% off!:D

I recently got On the Edge by Ilona Andrews and Raven’s Shadow by Patricia Briggs. My husband is complaining that I have too many books already, haha!:D

    Love the shoes too!

    • I hope I get the third Fionavar book for 80% off also! I haven’t even gotten around to reading the first one.

I loved On the Edge although most Kate Daniels fans were disappointed in it. I’ve heard good things about the sequel though so really can’t wait to read that. Just tell your husband that those books are for selling. Haha.

    • It’s a good thing I know the reference even though I’m not a Trekkie! I look forward to reading his book because they say it’s about a geeky guy who falls in love.

  2. Hey Chachic!
Looks like you did great!! Yay!! 🙂

    This is what I got:

-Peeps by Scott Westerfield (from Barnes & Noble)
-The Last Days by Scott Westerfield (from Barnes & Noble)
-Missing by Shiloh Walker (from Amazon)
-Fragile by Shiloh Walker (from Borders)
-Broken by Shiloh Walker (from Amazon)

    Happy Reading!

    • Haven’t read any of Guy Gavriel Kay’s books either but I’ve heard good things. I finished reading Grimspace last night and I really liked it, I’ll post a review within the week.

    • Cute, right? I don’t know what to call them, people say they’re oxfords or brogues.

I finished Grimspace last night! Really liked it. I’ll work on my review today and I’ll probably post it on Wednesday.

    • I love how most comments in this post mention the shoes. 🙂 The dragon book looks good, doesn’t it? I’m excited to read it because I haven’t read any Filipino speculative fiction books.

Comments are like chocolate. :) Maraming salamat / thank you!
