Want Books: Bayou Moon

Want Books? is a weekly meme hosted here at Chachic’s Book Nook and features released books that you want but you can’t have for some reason. It can be because it’s not available in your country, in your library or you don’t have the money for it right now. Everyone is free to join, just grab the image above. Leave a comment with a link to your post so I can do a roundup with each post.

You all know how much I love Ilona Andrews. I’ve been singing Kate Daniels’ praises ever since I discovered the books about her. I’m so glad that several friends have been convinced and they haven’t regretted following through with the recommendation. I also fell in love with On the Edge when I read it last month and was happy to discover that a sequel was due by the end of this month. Bayou Moon will be released in the States on September 28 but as always, I’m not exactly sure when it will become available here. I’m so excited to read this, especially since both Angie and Janice posted their reviews of it this week and they both liked it.

Here’s the summary from Ilona Andrews’ website, and you can even read an excerpt there:

The Edge lies between worlds, on the border between the Broken, where people shop at Walmart and magic is a fairytale–and the Weird, where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny…

Cerise Mar and her unruly clan are cash poor but land rich, claiming a large swathe of the Mire, the Edge swamplands between the state of Louisiana and the Weird. When her parents vanish, her clan’s long-time rivals are suspect number one.

But all is not as it seems. Two nations of the Weird are waging a cold war fought by feint and espionage, and their conflict is about to spill over into the Edge—and Cerise’s life . William, a changeling soldier who left behind the politics of the Weird, has been forced back into service to track down a rival nation’s spymaster.

When William’s and Cerise’s missions lead them to cross paths, sparks fly—but they’ll have to work together if they want to succeed… and survive.

I already loved On the Edge and William’s story looks really promising. I can’t wait to read it! What about you, what’s on your wishlist? 🙂

  1. Hi! Fellow Kate Daniels’ fan here. I’m not too sure about this new series by Andrews because I’m afraid it’s going to be heavy on the romance. Still, I like Kate Daniels so much, I have to try at least the first book. bookdepository.com is a good resource for books. They even ship to most countries free.

    • Hey dirtyblackstiletto, always nice to find another Kate Daniels fan! I’ve read On the Edge and I still loved it even though it has more romance than the Kate Daniels books. I’ve heard that Bayou Moon is even better. Oh yes, I can always order it from Book Depository but it would take around two weeks to get here. I’m hoping that my favorite local bookstore will have it in stock this coming week.

  2. I want “The Lost Hero” by Rick Riordan. Its the first book of the spin-off series from the Percy Jackson series. It comes out October 12. 17 days from now. Can’t wait. And now that I work and make my own money… I can buy it 🙂

    • Hey catherinecw, thank you for making up a Want Books post! I added it in the round up and I’ll head on over to your blog to check out the post. I hope you get to read Ilona Andrews soon, start with the Kate Daniels books though. 🙂

Comments are like chocolate. :) Maraming salamat / thank you!
