BBAW Future Treasures

Last day for BBAW! Here’s what we’re supposed to write about for Future Treasures: “We’ve been visiting each other and getting to know each other better…now is your chance to share what you enjoyed about BBAW and also what your blogging goals are for the next year!”

I started this blog only this year so this is the first time that I’ve participated in BBAW and I must say that it’s been a delightful experience. I love how we were all able to highlight some of our favorite books and bloggers thereby encouraging others to look them up. I’ve added new-to-me blogs in my reader and I look forward to reading their posts in the future. I enjoy discovering new blogs to follow and I’m pretty active in leaving comments once a blog has been added to my reader. I’ve also added several books in my wishlist and it looks like I’ll have more material for my Want Books meme.

As for future goals, here are some of mine for next year:

  • Organize more meet ups and discussions for Filipino Book Bloggers
  • Read the books in my TBR and keep the number of books in there to below a hundred
  • Write more posts that will encourage discussion
  • Reread old favorites so I can write reviews for them
  • Have at least one international giveaway

How about you, what are some of your blogging goals for next year? If you’re a follower of my blog, do you have suggestions on what I should focus on next year?

    • I’m currently at 151 so I hope I’ll be able to bring it down to just two digits next year. I feel like I’ve neglected the books that I haven’t read. I have some that have been there since 2007.

  1. Please consider this comment your invitation to finish up your BBAW week by adding a link to any reviews you’ve managed to post this week to the Saturday Review of Books at Semicolon this Saturday. Every week book bloggers from all over the blogosphere post links to their reviews and other bloggers and readers check out the reviews and find even more books to add to their wishlists.

Thanks for blogging and reading and sharing.

  2. Oh I like the TBR and the old favorites idea a lot. That sounds awesome. I need to make a goal for my TBR. Maybe 150 by the end of next year? We’ll keep talking about that one. hehehe

    • I knew you’d like the TBR idea. 😛 I’m sure we’ll keep updating each other on Twitter regarding the state of our TBRs but yes, you should also set a goal for yours. I really hope I get to bring down mine!

  3. I hope you keep us posted on your goals. I would especially like to know how to reconcile keeping the TBR number down and reading the old favorites. Getting those two to go together is my own current personal challenge.

    • Brandy, I hope I’ll be able to accomplish all of these goals! I know, I can’t reread old favorites because I want to lessen the number of books in my TBR. I don’t have a solution to that either. I wish I could read faster.

  4. Those are great goals! I can definitely relate to your desire to keep your TBR pile under control. Mine seems to be getting more intimidating by the moment & yet I still keep wanting to buy more books. Haha! I would really love to read and review some old favorites too, but I’m not sure when I will manage to do that. It seems odd that I’ve never written reviews for most of my favorite books. My biggest blogging goal for the coming year is to get better about sharing at least a brief review for the majority of the books that I read. Lately I’ve been reading WAY more than I’ve been reviewing. It is too easy to jump straight from reading one book to reading the next without pausing to review. By the time I find a moment to sit down and blog, only the most recent book ends up reviewed & I skip over the opportunity to discuss books I read (and sometimes loved) earlier in the week.

    • Speaking of buying books, I just bought two more today! But both of these books have been featured in my Want Books meme so I really want them. I keep telling myself I should stop buying books but I can’t help it! Although I don’t buy as many as I used to. I really hope I can bring down my TBR!

Oh wow, really? You’re a fast reader then! I usually write a review right after I finish reading a book so the story is still fresh in my mind. Otherwise, I think I’ll forget. I hope that next year, you get to review all of the books that you read. 🙂

Comments are like chocolate. :) Maraming salamat / thank you!
