Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. WoW posts are about books that you can’t wait to get your hands on. I know I do my WoW posts ahead of other people because of the time difference. It’s Wednesday morning here in Manila while it’s still Tuesday night for most other bloggers. Anyway, my WoW post for today is The Ring of Solomon by Jonathan Stroud, due out November 9 of this year. The Bartimaeus Trilogy is in my list of favorites and I think Bartimaeus is a hilarious narrator so it’s good to know that there’s another book coming out. It’s set in the same world but is more of a companion novel to the trilogy rather than part of the series. I’ve recommended the trilogy to a couple of friends so I know that others will look forward to this too.
Here’s the summary from Goodreads:
Bartimaeus, everyone’s favorite (wise-cracking) djinni, is back in book four of this best-selling series. As alluded to in the footnotes throughout the series, Bartimaeus has served hundreds of magicians during his 5,010 year career. Now, for the first time, fans will go back in time with the djinni, to Jerusalem and the court of King Solomon in 950s BC. Only in this adventure, it seems the great Bartimaeus has finally met his match. He’ll have to contend with an unpleasant master and his sinister servant, and runs into just a “spot” of trouble with King Solomon’s magic ring…
What’s your WoW pick this week? 🙂

This is a new series and title for me and it sounds like the type of book I really enjoy reading… fantasy with a bit of historical fiction thrown in. Great Choice.
This sounds wonderful. Great pick!
I’m waiting on The Iron Thorn here.
Happy reading. 🙂

It’s always wonderful when a new book in a series comes out. Enjoy!
Sounds like an entertaining read!
Jan, I hope you get to read this series soon.
E.J., thanks for dropping by! I’ll check out your WoW in a bit. 🙂
Laurel, I know! More so if it’s a series that you enjoy reading and this one is one of my favorites.
Mary, I have a feeling it will be!
I’ve never heard of this series, but it looks great! Nice pick. Mine is at The Crowded Leaf.
A new Bartimaeus book! How exciting! I loved the original trilogy and this one looks good too. Have you read Jonathan Stroud’s other book Heroes of the Valley?
Alayne, I do hope you’ll check out the Bartimaeus trilogy.
Maria, I loved the trilogy too! No, I haven’t read Heroes of the Valley, is it good?
I haven’t read the Bartimaeus trilogy yet. I always seem add new books to my wishlist when I visit your blog. Fun! 🙂
Violet, I know how you feel! I’m like that with several bloggers that I follow. 🙂 You should try reading the Bartimaeus trilogy, he’s really a funny narrator.
Ooh, this is the first time I’ve heard about this book.:) I should finish reading the other two books in the trilogy before this comes out.
I’m looking forward to Julie Kagawa’s The Iron Daughter (I see that Maria received an eARC, and I’m so jealous!):)
Celina, have you read the first book in the trilogy? You should read the rest! Well, you have enough time before this one comes out. This is a prequel too so it doesn’t matter if you haven’t finished the trilogy.
I still haven’t read The Iron King! I should read it soon so I can send it back to you already.
