Better World Books

I’ve been curious about Better World Books ever since a friend mentioned it. I’ve had three friends order from there and they’ve all been satisfied with their books, one friend lives in Australia. So when Celina mentioned that they’re having an Earth Day sale, I thought I should go ahead and try it. Here’s a description of Better World Books from their site:

Better World Books collects and sells books online to fund literacy initiatives worldwide. With more than six million new and used titles in stock, we’re a self-sustaining, triple-bottom-line company that creates social, economic and environmental value for all our stakeholders.

These are the books that I ended up buying:

I spent $47.09, half of which is for shipping. Kind of expensive for used books but I think they’re worth it because these books aren’t available here and they’re all highly recommended. I wanted to get new books but those don’t get the discount so I can get them some other time. I’m still waiting for an online book store with free shipping to the Philippines (I’m looking at you, Book Depository. Worldwide includes the Philippines, you know). Yay, I’m excited to get my books! They said it’ll take 2 – 5 weeks to get here.

Just wanted to make a post about this so that other people can order from Better World Books if they’re looking for used book stores online or one that ships to the Philippines with reasonable shipping rates, $3.97 per book isn’t that bad.

    • Yes, I’m excited to get them! I’ve been looking for both Daughter of the Forest and Heart’s Blood here but they’re not available. I’m glad that Better World Books has stocks of these two. Can’t wait to read them!

  1. I’ve been really curious about Better World Books. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I loved Margaret Mahy’s The Changeover & Juliet Marillier’s Daughter of the Forest! 🙂

    • Hi Violet! Do you like in the States? If you do, then you should definitely give Better World Books a try because they have free shipping over there.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about both books that you mentioned. Those two books are in a lot of people’s favorites lists.
